Beauty and You – After 60 Makeup Foundations

Sharing is caring!

What makeup foundation(s) are your go to brand(s)? Do you like a drug store brand, a department store brand or one of the online only type brands? Here we talk about beauty and you after 60, makeup foundations.

For me, I’ve always been an Estee Lauder fan. So my go to has been the Double Wear Stay In Place foundation in the shade Desert Beige. Now with that said, have I ever strayed and checked out other brands? Yes I have. However, I always go back to my go to. Even my husband will say, “Why did you buy that?” You know you are never happy with anything other than Estee Lauder.”

I have a love for medium to full coverage and a need for lasting power of at least 12 to 24 hours. I detest having to touch up throughout the day. It just will not happen with me; just can’t do it.

Recently, my facial skin has had some dryness going on. I decided to try Estee Lauder’s newest foundation Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Makeup with a sunscreen of 45 spf in my same shade, Desert Beige. It has some really nice ingredients that hydrate your skin. I tried a 10 day supply to check it out first.

I must say, I really like it for my 60+ year old facial skin. It provides medium coverage, and it is buildable to full coverage and provides radiance.

My skin feels so nice and supple and hydrated, just from using this foundation. It gives a radiant glow which can be different for someone who is use to having a semi-matte finish with the Double Wear Stay In Place makeup.

Idea For Less Radiance

If you feel the radiance is too much for you, just put a small dusting amount of finishing powder (I like the Perfecting Finishing Powder by Estee Lauder in shade Light/Medium) to bring the glow down a bit.

Or

Try combining a tad bit of the Futurist Rescue Makeup Foundation with a bit of the Double Wear Makeup Foundation. By doing this, you will have a blend of radiance and matte finish. For me, beauty after 60, makeup foundations for now, is this combination. It provides a youthful appearance, while still enjoying the benefit of a semi-matte finish.

Just to let you know, this website is not sponsored by Estee Lauder (Hint, Hint: I would love for them to do so though!) but I am a huge fan of their products.

What I love about the makeup foundations and many other of their products, is that they last anywhere from 6 to 9 months, especially when I was wearing a full face of cosmetics on a daily basis. So when I calculated the cost by either 6 or 9 months, the breakdown in comparison to drug store brands, purchasing Estee Lauder brand, just made sense to me.

I feel my most beautiful and confident with the Estee Lauder products. What is working great for you? Let me know in your comments.

I would love to know what others over 60+ are using and loving.

Don’t miss my post about the wonderful Rose Quartz Facial Roller. It’s a real treat to improve the look of our aging facial skin.
